Comments    I graduated from UK, taught elementary school, earned a doctorate in education and became Director of Reading Programs for Fort Wayne (IN) Community Schools. I retired in 1993, and my husband and I moved to FL where we live on the beach.

School Story    I attended Hemphill Grade School for my first three years, Neon Grade School thru sixth grade. I "went on the hill" for seventh and eighth grade and stayed on until I graduated high school.

There were some very caring teachers who gave tirelessly of their time. Being in the junior and senior plays were some of my best memories.

Bobbie Jean Browning (Whitaker) and I entered first grade and graduated high school together. We were always best friends.
