Occupation    Teacher

Comments    I am teaching in Gallatin county. I taught in Owen County 22 years. I moved here while I was attending UK & I've been here since. I also work for OVEC & Ky. Department of Education presenting at conferences and doing training sessions. I teach a class through WKU for teachers who are going through National Board Certification. I started out teaching Middle School Math & Reading then moved to 2nd grade & I've been teaching Preschool for the last 20 years. I absolutely love my job- the kids keep me young.

If that doesn't keep me busy enough, I'm a youth leader at my church & the youth director for our region for the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

I'm still as crazy as ever & still love to have a great time. I have my motorcycle license and love to ride. I love digging for fossils- I know I'm still a science geek:) I miss home and my friends terribly!

School Story    Oh so many memories…
Some of my favorites are:
-walking off the hill to eat lunch
(or just hanging with my girls on the wall during lunch)
-band trips, late night band practice, band camp- I will never forget how the crew- Steve, BJ, Onalee, Kim, Cathy, Sara, Tammy, William- took me under their wings & made me feel like part of the crew-thanks guys- I love you!
-pep rallies, cheerleading camp at UK
-Mr. Honeycutt saying, “people are crazier than anybody”
-Mr. Hall’s game of rise and shine
-Prom at the country club
-hanging out at fishpond with Steve Reach, Jim Banks, & Therma Dee- those were good times
-playing basketball in my yard with the crew
-UK basketball players hanging out around town in the summer
-Smoking break, although I’ve never smoked it was still a fun time to chit chat with friends
-Driving around all over the county soliciting advertisements for the yearbook- what a blast
- And who could forget the ring of fire around the mountains and the scent the smoke left on you?

Hey Karen, looking at these pics makes me miss the old days. I miss you. Wish you were closer to home and we could just sit and talk. Things are always so crazy when you come in that I never get to see you. :( Call me next time you are in. I would love to just go out to lunch with you and catch up. I love you girl.

Hi, or should I say "Hey-Hey"!
Wow, I found a picture of me on your page...cool!
It was good to hear from you. Tracy Allred was a sweetheart! He wrote to me a few times after all festival. I've often wondered what happened to him.
Loved your memories too!
One memory that I left out was once when Ms Moberly wasn't there and Ms Taylor made the band students
go to Mr Honeycutt's room. We made a break for it and would have gotten away with it but somebody signed our names to the roster and Ms Taylor decided to call roll! Oh, the good 'ol days!
Take care
Kim
